Wenlin Tan: Interdisciplinary Artist & Practice-Based Researcher
I am an interdisciplinary artist working across participatory art, embodied practice and ecological inquiry. My work explores how relationships between people, place and the more-than-human world emerge through listening, movement, sensory attention and sustained engagement with place.
Drawing on somatic practices, Daoist philosophy and participatory methodologies, I create experiences that invite people to attend to themselves, one another and their surroundings in new ways. Through walking, movement, conversation and participatory scores, I explore listening as a relational practice through which meaning, connection and understanding can emerge.
My work is increasingly concerned with belonging: how we become connected to ourselves, to communities and to the places we inhabit. I am particularly interested in thresholds where social and ecological worlds meet, and in how embodied encounters with place might cultivate ecological awareness, reciprocity and collective care.
